Heal Country, Heal Our Nation.

NAIDOC Week starts TODAY!!!     ❤️πŸ’›πŸ–€      This year the theme is Heal Country, heal our nation. Country is inherent to the identity of   Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples -   spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially, and culturally.         It is more than a place.   Country is spoken of like a person.     For generations,   Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people   have been calling for stronger measures to   recognise, protect, and maintain all aspects   of our culture and heritage for all Australians.       They continue to seek greater protections for our lands,   our waters, our sacred sites and our cultural heritage from exploitation, desecration, and destruction.   ❤️πŸ’›πŸ–€    View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bush Heritage (@bushheritageaus)

What is the Australian Institute of Botanical Science? The Australian Institute of Botanical Science consists of the physical and virtual scientific collections, research, services and facilities, and of course, our staff at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan and the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah.  The new Institute will be one of the nation’s premier botanical research organisations and will help ensure the survival of plants and build more resilient ecosystems for future generations.

This year’s theme of National Reconciliation Week is: "More than a word, Reconciliation Takes Action", talking to each other and genuinely listening are two impactful actions that will help us move forwards together towards true reconciliation.
