Deeper Instinct Chooses.

Image
“Instinct is the part of us, as in all animals, that knows without thinking what and when to do something, how to respond, which way to go. Like the salmon that swims its way across hundreds of river miles to its birthplace, we too have inborn impulses that don’t require thinking to get us there.  Instinct is our “right responsiveness” guiding us towards our yesses, and away from our noes. For many of us, however, this instinct has been so blunted, domesticated and harnessed for its resources that we barely recognize its call.  Instead of being taught to protect yourself from things or people who might do you harm, you may have learned to distrust your own feelings, boundaries, and reactions.  If you grow accustomed to overriding your responses, over time you stop being able to recognize intrusions and violations.  You may have delayed reactions to poor behaviour.  You may have even find yourself dwelling on moments in which you wish you’d said or done somethin...

Embrace,  Poems by Risa Kaparo Scarlet-Tanager Press Her award-winning poetry has been described as “a poetry of soul-making.”  Dr. Kaparo’s deep commitment to the art of awakening is also reflected in her creation of Somatic Learning®, a self-healing methodology of psychological, somatic, and meditative disciplines. "Embrace is a spiritual autobiography; rich, engrossing, it climbs the levels from language to psychology to archetype. Risa Kaparo writes a poetry of soul-making." Richard Silberg, Associate Editor of Poetry Flash and author of Doubleness "When Risa Kaparo writes about fire, you feel it. Her gaze is like life. You’ve got no place to hide. Kaparo holds you in her poetic grip, a poet who makes beauty out of your suffering." Floyd Salas, author of Color of My Living Heart: Poems, Stories and Poems from Close to Home "Embrace is poetry fired in a crucible of compassion, lyrical narrative that moves from abuse to love and redemption. These poems ar...

How you feel about me, what you see in me, the thoughts that arise from your encounter of me, the judgments you hold about me, are all reflections of you. The Unity of Alertness and Passive Awareness Brings Freedom From Desire and Freedom From Conflict Creates Simplicity

Image
"To meet the snake you must venture out beyond the paved streets and artificial lights". "The action of will may temporarily light up the immediate foreground, necessary for mere activity, but it can never clear up the background; for will itself is the outcome of this very background.  The background breeds and nourishes the will, and will may sharpen the background, heighten its potentialities; but it can never cleanse the background. Simplicity is not of the mind.  A planned simplicity is only a cunning adjustment, a defence against pain and pleasure; it is a self-enclosing activity which breeds various forms of conflict and confusion.  It is conflict that brings darkness, within and without.  Conflict and clarity cannot exist together; and it is freedom from conflict that gives simplicity, not the overcoming of conflict.  What is conquered has to be conquered again and again, and so conflict is made endless.  The understanding of conflict is the underst...

Kindly Now, A Shared Silence in Soulitude

Image
_kindlynow πŸ•―  Kindness is Always The Right Question "Solitude is not an absence of energy or action, as some believe, but is rather a boon of wild provisions transmitted to us from the soul.  In ancient times, purposeful solitude was both palliative and preventative. It was used to heal fatigue and to prevent weariness.  It was also used as an oracle, as a way of listening to the inner self to solicit advice and guidance otherwise impossible to hear in the din of daily life.πŸ•― ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes

Devoted, Discerning and Oh So Fiercely Tender. The Unwavering Union With Self. You Are Always Welcome In This, Your Own True Nature, Home.

L O V E   V I T A L   L I V I N G Indian philosophical enquiries are carried out in the inner world.  Indian sages, called Rishis or seers, developed techniques of exploring the senses and the ordinary simple mind, collectively called Yoga.  A Calm Abiding Self Knowledge of Divine Union with Your Self.  With the help of these techniques they delved deep into the depths of consciousness and discovered important truths about the true nature of man and the universe.  The sages found that man's true nature is not the body or the mind, which are ever changing and perishable, but the spirit which is unchanging, immortal, pure consciousness.  They called it the Atman.  The Atman is man's true Self, the true knower, the true source of man's knowledge, happiness and power.  The Rishis further found that all individual selves are parts of infinite Consciousness which they called Brahman.  Brahman is the ultimate Reality, the ultimate cau...
