Eucalypt Australia is a grant-making Charitable Trust that focuses on eucalypts, an Australian icon and a significant aspect of Australia’s natural environment and biodiversity. We envisage a public inspired by and appreciative of eucalypts. Norwegian-born Bjarne Klaus Dahl spent his working life among the eucalypt forests of Victoria, in the early days as a forest assessor in government service, and in later years as a forester in industry. During that time, he developed an affinity with the Australian bush and a high regard for the silvertop ash, Eucalyptus sieberi. Bjarne Dahl linked his well-being and financial prosperity to eucalypts, so much so that he left his entire estate to the Forests Commission of Victoria. The Trust was established in 2007.
