NAIDOC Week starts TODAY!!!     ❤️💛🖤      This year the theme is Heal Country, heal our nation. Country is inherent to the identity of   Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples -   spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially, and culturally.         It is more than a place.   Country is spoken of like a person.     For generations,   Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people   have been calling for stronger measures to   recognise, protect, and maintain all aspects   of our culture and heritage for all Australians.       They continue to seek greater protections for our lands,   our waters, our sacred sites and our cultural heritage from exploitation, desecration, and destruction.   ❤️💛🖤    View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bush Heritage (@bushheritageaus)

We're delighted to report that the endangered southern right whale ( "Durrangan" in Gathang language of local first nations ) which has spent the past week in Wallis Lake near Forster-Tuncurry has made its way safely out to sea! While it's special for such a magnificent animal to pop in for a visit, it’s great to see it continue on its travels. We’d like to thank the community for its patience, support and positive response to the special protection order we issued earlier this week.
