Intentional Maturity in A Free Flowing Co Created Relationship If you truly want your relationship to survive and grow stronger over time, you must be willing to cut off anything that makes your partner uncomfortable or insecure. This includes certain friends you hang out with, old habits like staying out late without notice, or any behaviour that makes them feel disrespected.  Many people enter relationships thinking they can continue living exactly as before. They hold onto the mindset of “I can do what I want.” That approach destroys trust and creates constant tension. A solid relationship requires both people to notice when their actions hurt the other and then make real adjustments.  This is not about losing your freedom or letting someone control you . It is about maturity. You choose to set clear boundaries with outside influences that bring stress into the relationship. You change small behaviors that cause problems. The hardest truth for men to accept is that girls are genuinely okay with short-term romances. Girls don’t want commitment or long-term relationships. Girls just want to spin plates. Girls just want to drink the custard.  Girls just want to have fun. Accept the girl reality.  It is all ok. Your physical safety — there is no version of love that involves feeling afraid. 9. Your relationship with your family — love should add to your life, not cut it off. 10. Your right to honesty — you deserve the full truth, not a comfortable version of it. 11. Your ability to express disagreement — silence to keep peace is slow self erasure. 12. Your personal time ...

Dr. Gordon Neufeld discusses the way our capacity for relationship is meant to develop and why this development is so necessary. Each of the six phases of attachment create a new way to connect to a range of people (from birth parents to life partners and your own children and everyone in between ... ).  For me, this wonderful in depth seminar really warms up around the 1 hour 5 minute mark and continues so until the awesome summary.  Skip there if time is short and you are busy...  If not, grab a coffee, get comfy and listen.  The life long extensive attachment research that Dr Neufeld generously shares in this broad ranging talk is simply fascinating. Or is that just me...? Relationship Nerd Alert... So happy to Be that too.  Especially the juicy bits on "premature digital intimacy"... made enormous sense in this "permanent part time attention" era of the fractious digital age. AKA lack of presence ... lack of consciousness... lack of depth and awareness... la...
